Annual Meeting of the Donald Ross Society 2008 Announced

Donald Ross Society President Gerry Stratford and the Board of Directors of the Donald Ross Society invite you to attend the 19th Annual Meeting in legendary Wilmington North Carolina at two of the oldest and most respected courses in the state. Cape Fear Country Club and the Wilmington Municipal Golf Club will host the event.

Cape Fear was designed by Donald Ross in 1924 and then remodeled by Ross in 1947. The Club has completed a complete restoration of the golf facility by Kris Spence, using the 1947 plans to rebuild the greens and bunkers to specs. It has reopened to rave reviews. Cape Fear was named the fourth best restoration/renovation of private clubs in 2007 by Golf Digest Magazine.

The Wilmington Municipal was built by Mr. Ross in 1925. It is today the same design as when built. The “Muni” is an enchanting course revered in the Carolinas for its difficulty and its resilience. The Wilmington Municipal hosts nearly 60,000 rounds a year.

Walker Taylor IV former President of the Donald Ross Society a lifelong Wilmington resident and member of Cape Fear CC promises that this will be one of the best Annual Meeting in Society history.
