Treasury Report for 2006

This year marked one of the best years for raising funds for the DRS Foundation.

Accordingly, the Foundation granted $6,000 to the Tufts Archives on January 24, 2007, thanks to all the DRS membership. The Archives’ goal in 2007 is to complete the digital scanning of Ross’ large-scale golf course plans. This grant will entirely fund that effort. The Foundation will continue to support their efforts in collecting, preserving and disseminating the records of Donald J. Ross. Visit the Tufts Archives in Pinehurst if you get a chance.

The Society membership from July 1998 to 2007 has provided $68,000 in support of the Tufts Archives through the DRS and the DRS Foundation. These funds were raised through DRS events, donations from Society members and DRS Board members. Thank you again.

The DRS Foundation, a separate organization from the DRS, is striving to continue support of the Tufts Archives. The DRS Foundation currently has assets of approximately $73,000 and is supported by donations from individuals, monies from the DRS and its events. The DRS Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization.

The DRS membership is currently about 1,100 strong. Of these members around 700 paid dues in 2006. The DRS has an account now valued at about $30,000, funded entirely by membership dues for activities remaining in this fiscal year.
